Making a reservation

How do I make a reservation?

Everything is booked right here at book.lr2.studio. Pick your room, choose your date and time, tell us how many people are coming, add any equipment or services you need, and pay. The whole thing takes a few minutes, and your reservation is confirmed as soon as your payment goes through. Your confirmation email has everything you need, including your door code.

What rooms are available and what comes with them?

Two rooms, each with its own character and setup: the M-Room and the H-Room. When you start a reservation you will see photos, rates, and the full equipment list for each room, so you know exactly what you are walking into before you commit.

What equipment do you have?

Each room comes stocked, and the full list lives on the room itself. When you are choosing a room in the reservation flow, open its equipment list to see everything included at no extra charge. We keep those lists current, so what you see there is what is in the room. Need something we do not carry? Email shoot@lr2.studio and we will talk it through.

How long can I reserve?

The M-Room books from 2 to 8 hours, or a full 10-hour day. The H-Room books from 1 to 8 hours. If your production needs more than that, email shoot@lr2.studio and we will figure it out together.

Why do I need to create an account?

Your account is how you stay in control of your reservation. It is created in the same step as your payment, no separate signup. It gives you a dashboard where you can see your reservation details, your door code, and your receipts, and make changes like adding time or rescheduling without emailing anyone.

Pricing and payment

How does guest count pricing work?

Our pricing is tiered by the number of people present during your reservation, so small productions pay less. Choose the tier that matches your total headcount, including yourself and your crew. If more people are present than your selected tier allows, we may apply a guest count surcharge after your session, based on the tier that matches your actual attendance. For larger or commercial productions, reach out and we will help you plan. The details are in our Terms of Service.

When am I charged?

Your card is charged when you place your reservation; that payment is what locks in your time. If you add time or equipment later, those charges go to the same card when you make the change. Anything that comes up after your session, like overtime or a guest count adjustment, is charged afterward per our Terms of Service.

Can I use a coupon or a free hour?

Yes. If you have a coupon code, enter it at checkout and your total updates before you pay. You can also earn a free hour: post your shoot on your main Instagram feed, tag @lr2studio in the caption and the post, and use the LR2 Studio geotag. Ask to redeem within 30 days and the hour goes toward your next rental.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

Can I cancel my reservation?

Yes. You can cancel any time before your reservation starts, right from your dashboard. Cancel more than 48 hours out and we refund half of the room fee you paid, plus any refundable add-ons. Inside 48 hours there is no refund, but you can still cancel and free up the slot for someone else. Special order items are non-refundable once we have placed the order. The full policy is in our Terms of Service.

Can I reschedule?

Yes, up to 48 hours before your start time, straight from your dashboard. Your reservation moves with the same room, same length, and same door code. If the new time costs more, like moving from a weekday to a weekend, you pay the difference. If it costs less or the same, there is nothing to pay and no refund of the difference. Inside 48 hours, email shoot@lr2.studio and we will see what we can do.

Can I add time?

Yes, any time before your scheduled end, from your dashboard, in 30-minute steps. Time added before your session starts is billed at the regular hourly rate. Once your session is underway, added time is billed at 1.5 times the hourly rate. If you think you might run over, extending from your dashboard before your end time is the smoothest way to do it.

Can I add equipment or services after reserving?

Yes, up to 48 hours before your start time, from your dashboard, with charges going to your card on file. That 48-hour cutoff is what lets us guarantee everything is prepped and in the room when you arrive. Special order items are non-refundable once we have placed the order.

Your session

How do I get into the studio?

Your confirmation email has everything you need to get in: the building access codes and your studio room door code. The room code is also on your reservation in your dashboard. Plan on it working during your reserved time, so arrive at your start time, not before. No front desk, no waiting on somebody with keys. Your codes are your way in.

What is a pull/sweep?

We hang big rolls of paper on the wall to use as backdrops. A pull, also called a sweep, is when we roll that paper down the wall and out across the floor. It makes one smooth curve with no corner, the clean background you see in full-body and product photos. One pull is about 5 feet of paper on the floor, and it costs $20. Here is the part that affects your bill: the paper on the floor gets walked on, torn, and creased during your shoot, so we cannot reuse it. That means you pay for every pull you use. If you pull out more than one, or roll down fresh paper during your session, each one is another $20. Pick your color from our stocked rolls when you reserve. Want a color we do not carry? We can special order it for $95, and special orders cannot be refunded.

What happens if I run past my scheduled end time?

Time past your scheduled end is overtime, billed at 1.5 times the hourly rate per our Terms of Service. If you can see it coming, extend your reservation from your dashboard before your end time. Your door code shuts off shortly after your scheduled end, so extending also keeps the door working for you.

How do I contact the studio?

Email shoot@lr2.studio and a real person from the studio will get back to you. Asking about a specific reservation? Include the reservation code shown on your reservation in your dashboard and we can move faster.
