FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Straight answers about reserving, shooting, and getting the most out of LR2
Making a reservation
How do I make a reservation?
You book it all right here at book.lr2.studio. Pick your room, your date, and your time. Tell us how many people are coming. Add any gear or services you need, then pay. It takes a few minutes. Your spot is locked in as soon as your payment goes through, and we email you everything you need, including your door code.
What rooms are available and what comes with them?
We have two rooms, the M-Room and the H-Room. Each one has its own look and setup. When you start a reservation, you will see photos, prices, and the full gear list for each room. So you know exactly what you are getting before you pick.
What equipment do you have?
Each room comes with its own gear, and the full list is right on the room. When you pick a room to book, open its gear list to see what is included. It all comes with the room at no extra charge. We keep the lists up to date, so what you see is what is in the room. Need something we do not have? Email shoot@lr2.studio and we will talk it through.
How long can I reserve?
The H-Room books for 1 to 8 hours. The M-Room books for 2 to 8 hours, or a full 10-hour day. Need more time than that? Email shoot@lr2.studio and we will work it out.
Why do I need to create an account?
Your account puts you in charge of your reservation. You make it in the same step as your payment, so there is no extra sign-up. It gives you a dashboard where you can see your reservation, your door code, and your receipts. You can also add time or change your date yourself, with no email needed.
Pricing and payment
How does guest count pricing work?
You pay based on how many people are in the room, so smaller shoots cost less. When you book, pick the tier that fits your whole group. Count yourself and everyone with you: your crew, your models, and any guests. If more people show up than your tier allows, we may add a guest fee after your shoot. That fee is based on how many people were really there. Planning a big or commercial shoot? Reach out and we will help you set it up. The full rules are in our Terms of Service.
When am I charged?
We charge your card when you book, and that payment locks in your time. If you add time or gear later, that goes on the same card when you make the change. Anything that comes up after your shoot, like overtime or a guest fee, is charged after. You can read more in our Terms of Service.
Can I use a coupon code?
Yes. Type it in at checkout and your total updates before you pay. You can use one promo code per reservation. So a coupon and a free-hour code cannot both go on the same one. Pick the code that saves you more.
How does the free hour work?
Here is how to earn a free hour. Post your shoot on your main Instagram feed. Tag @lr2studio in both the caption and the photo, and add the LR2 Studio location. Then email shoot@lr2.studio within 30 days of that shoot. Send a link to your post, plus your reservation code. That is the 8-character code shown on your reservation in your dashboard, like MK7P42XR. It is not your door code or a coupon code. We check the post and email you a code for one free hour. Sending it also lets us repost or share that one post and give you credit, and nothing more.
To use your code, type it in at checkout on your next reservation. The code has its own end date, and you will find it in that email. That end date is not the same as the 30 days you had to ask. Your reservation also has to be long enough to hold the room minimum plus the free hour. That means at least 2 hours in the H-Room, or 3 hours in the M-Room.
The code takes one hour off your price, at the rate for that room and date. If your group is big enough to have a guest fee, the free hour covers that hour of the fee too. If you add guests after you book, the free hour keeps the value it had at checkout, and you pay the guest fee difference across your whole reservation. On the M-Room full-day price, the hour comes off at the day rate, which is a little lower than the hourly rate. The code does not cover the cleaning fee or any add-ons. And once you use the code, it is spent, so cancelling does not bring it back. If that happens, email us and we will see what we can do.
Changes, cancellations and refunds
Can I cancel my reservation?
Yes. You can cancel any time before your reservation starts, right from your dashboard. Cancel more than 48 hours ahead and we give back half of the room fee you paid, plus any add-ons that can be refunded. Cancel within 48 hours and there is no refund, but you can still cancel to free up the slot for someone else. Special-order items cannot be refunded once we order them. The full rules are in our Terms of Service.
Can I reschedule?
Yes. You can move your reservation up to 48 hours before it starts, right from your dashboard. It keeps the same room, the same length, and the same door code. If the new day costs more, like moving to a weekend, you pay the difference. If it costs the same or less, you pay nothing and we do not refund the difference. Within 48 hours, email shoot@lr2.studio and we will see what we can do.
Can I add time?
Yes. You can add time before your session ends, right from your dashboard, in 30-minute steps. Add it before your session starts and you pay the normal hourly rate. Add it once your session has started and that time costs 1.5 times the rate. If you think you might run long, add the time before your end time. That is the easiest way to do it.
Can I add equipment or services after reserving?
Yes. You can add most gear and services any time before your session ends, right from your dashboard, and we charge it to the card on file. Special-order items work a little differently. Those are things we bring in just for you, so we need at least 48 hours before your start time, and they cannot be refunded once we order them.
Your session
How do I get into the studio?
Your confirmation email has everything you need to get in: the building codes and your studio room code. The room code is also on your reservation in your dashboard. It works during your reserved time, so come at your start time, not before. There is no front desk and no waiting on keys. Your codes are how you get in.
What is a pull/sweep?
We hang big rolls of paper on the wall to use as backdrops. A pull, also called a sweep, is when we roll that paper down the wall and out onto the floor. It makes one smooth curve with no corner. That is the clean, endless background you see in full-body and product photos. One pull is about 5 feet of paper on the floor, and it costs $20. Here is the part that changes your bill. The paper on the floor gets walked on, torn, and creased, so we cannot use it again. That means you pay for each pull you use. Roll out more paper, or start a fresh piece during your shoot, and each one is another $20. Pick your color from our stock when you book. Want a color we do not carry? We can special-order it for $95, and special orders cannot be refunded.
What happens if I run past my scheduled end time?
Time past your end time is overtime, and it costs 1.5 times the hourly rate. The easy way to handle it is to add time from your dashboard before your end time, in 30-minute steps. If you do not add time and just stay past your end, we charge a full hour at 1.5 times the rate, even if you only run a few minutes over. Your door code also turns off soon after your end time, so adding time keeps the door working for you. You can read the rule in our Terms of Service.
How do I contact the studio?
Email shoot@lr2.studio and a real person from the studio will get back to you. Asking about a certain reservation? Include the reservation code from your dashboard so we can move faster.
